St Etienne airport is a few miles west of St Etienne, south-west of Lyon. The
airport only has a few flights per day as it is so small. Flight destinations
from here include London Stansted (Ryan Air),
Nantes (Air Atlantique), Le Havre (via Nantes - Air Atlantique), Paris Orly Sud
(Air Atlantique), La Rochelle (via Paris, Air Atlantique), Contact details for

Airport opening hours: From Monday to Friday: 5h30 - 21h30. Saturday and Sunday
: 7h30 - 10h30
If you are driving from the airport take Autoroute A7 in the direction of Marseille
for Lyon. For Grenoble first take Autoroute A48 in the direction of Lyon. Take
the A43 exit No. 5 Isle d'Abeau-Chesne
By taxi from Saint Etienne it should take 20 minutes to both the city centre
and Gare Chateaucreux. Cost 20 €. To the Gare d’Andrézieux
: 5 min and Gare de Bouthéon : 2 min
TRAIN
Lyon is linked to all parts of France and Europe by rail. Use Gare de Lyon for
trains to Paris. Direct links to Avignon, Marseille and Montpellier will soon
be possible. There are two train stations Gare de Perrache and Gare de la Part-Dieu.
You can travel between these by metro (change at Charpennes) or by SNCF train.
BUS
Intercity buses depart from the terminal under the Centre d'Echange. Timetables
are available from the TCL information office (tel. 04 7871 7000) on the lower
level of the building. Tickets are sold on the bus. Buses for other destinations
west of Lyon leave from outside the Gorge de Loup metro station. Tel. 04 7843
