SPECIALTY FOOD
Go to La Nissarda, 17 Rue Gubernatis for specialties from Nice and Normandy.
Other specialities from the region include socca (chick pea rissoles), farcis (stuffed vegetables) and ratatouille. Nissa Socca, 5 Rue Sainte Reparate in the old city has some of these specialities.

CAFES AND RESTAURANTS
Vieux Nice has all the atmospheric alfresco dining and bars, in particular cours Saleya, place Pierre Gautier and place Rossetti. For something cheaper there's cafes in the station area and around pedestrian rue Masséna.

The old town generally is the scene for restaurants and night life.

In front of the prèfecture in Cours Saleya is a fruit and vegetable market in Vieux Nice. Open 6am to 5.30pm (closed Sunday afternoon and Monday).
