TO / FROM THE AIRPORT

Located at the heart of the Grand Riviéra, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport offers 23 scheduled bus routes totalling 250 departures per day, serving 100 destinations between Marseilles and Genoa.
For fares and schedules go the Nice airport page above. To get into the city by bus there are a number of options.
Buses depart from Aéroport - Nice Centre Direct Gare Routière (N° 98)
Départs Terminal 2 - quai 5 & Terminal 1 - quai 1every day approximately from 6am to 11pm. The bus ride takes 30 minutes.
From Aéroport - Nice Gare SNCF Direct (N° 99)
Départs Terminal 2 - quai 4 & Terminal 1 - quai 1. Buses depart from 8am to 9pm approximately every 30 minutes.
From Ligne : Aéroport - Nice Ville (N° 23 St Maurice - Réseau Urbain)
Départs Terminal 1 - quai 6 from Monday to Friday every 10 minutes from 6am to 8.50pm. On Saturday the buses come every 13 minutes from 6.30am to 8.50pm. On Sundays and public holidays they come every 15 minutes from 7am to 8pm.

Taxis wait outside each terminal to take you into Nice or other locations. All have meters and you pay to the driver not via vouchers. Standard rates are now applicable for taxis which you can read about in the section below.
If you need to pay a driver when you get a taxi from the airport remember they accept cash only. There are cash dispensers on the Arrivals level:
- Terminal 1: to the right as you leave the luggage collection area, next to the Foreign Exchange
- Terminal 2: between Gates A1 and A2,to the right of the Information Desk.

4 railway stations can be reached directly from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. For details on the schedules from these train stations scroll below.
Nice St Augustin is just 500m from the terminal. Follow the signs.
St Laurent du Var is 3km from the airport. To get there by bus take Route 200, Departs from Terminal 1 - Gate A0).

Stop: "Footbridge" opposite SNCF station on the RN7.
Journey: 7 minutes.
Frequency: every 40 mins.
Price: €3.30 per person (Purchase ticket from the Parking / Bus Office).

Route 1A - 1B (Departs from Terminal 2 - Stand 6).
Bus VARMER: (33) 4 92 08 82 02.
Stop: "SNCF Railway Station".
Journey: 8 minutes.
Frequency: 11 departures per day from Monday to Saturday.
Price: €1.30 per person (purchase on the bus).
By taxi it will cost you €15.00.
Nice City Centre train station is 10km away.
To get there by bus take Route 99 SNCF Direct (Departures from Terminal 2 - Stand 4 and Terminal 1 - Stand 1).

Journey: 20 minutes.
Frequency: every 1/2 hour from 8 am to 9 pm.
Price: €3.50 per person, including luggage (purchase ticket on the bus).

Route 23 direction "St Maurice" (Departures from Terminal 1 - Stand 6).

Stop: "SNCF Railway Station".
Journey: 45 minutes.
Frequency: every 10 mins.
Price: €1.30 per person (purchase ticket on the bus).By taxi this journey costs € 25.00.

Chemins de Fer de Provence is 11km away. To get there by bus take Route 23 direction "St Maurice" (Departs from Terminal 1 - Stand 6).
SUNBUS: +33 (0)4 93 13 53 13.
Stop: "Place De Gaulle", then 200m behind the former station (follow the signs).
Journey: 55 minutes.
Frequency: every 10 mins.
Price: €1.3 per person (purchase ticket on the Bus).
By taxi this journey costs : €25.00.

TAXIS
Taxis are an expensive way to get around in Nice. The day rate for taxis is €1.48, at night between 7pm and 7am it is €1.96 (ths is also applicable on Sundays and bank holidays).

Minimum fare: €5
Supplements: - Per suitcase: €0.60
- Trunk or big parcel: €1.10
- Animal (excluding guide dog): €1.10

BUS
Local buses are run by Sunbus. Tickets can be purchased individually or in books (carnet) of 10. Get bus information and daily passes from the Sunbus information office, Station Centrale on Ave Fèlix Faure, tel. 04 9316 5210
From the train station to Vieux Nice and the bus station take bus no. 2, 5 or 17. Bus no. 12 links the train station with the beach.

TRAINS
All of the train stations mentioned above service different locations.
Regional trains leaving from St Augustin and St Laurent du Var go from Cannes to Vintimille.

Main Line Trains (SNCF) are inter-regional eg. Nice-Marseille, national and international. This trains depart from the Nice City Centre. For schedules and information go to http://www.sncf.com
Sightseeing Trains go to Nice’s hinterland (Nice-Digne) and the Roya Valley (Nice-Breil-Cuneo).
Locations include
- The Var Valley (20 shuttles a day between Nice and Colomars).
- The Valley of the Haut Verdon
- Snow Train (connection for Val d'Allos).
- 4 return trips every day between Nice and Digne
- Train des Pignes : a typical train from yesteryear with wooden benches and open running-boards, drawn by a steam locomotive engine from 1909.

TICKETS
Train tickets should be purchased before boarding the train and validated on the station. For buses it varies if you are purchasing it on board or off the bus. Usually it is possible to always purchase the ticket on board although the drivers prefer not to. You are usually required to validate your ticket in a machine aboard the bus.
